This one has a sweet story. Every year for our anniversary I make a clay heart (pictured below). All year we fill it with little pieces of paper that we scribbled reasons we love each other, love notes, and memories. On our anniversary, before I present John Jack with the new heart, we smash the old one and read the notes we left each other. These are the notes from our 1 year anniversary. Some of my favorites from this year where “I love you because you set my carpet on fire” (true story, actually happened), and “I loved spending time together to bake cookies” (which never actually happened).
